First things first
1st capital of Greece.
1st visit to the beach.
Of course it wasn't the first time in the wonderful town of Nafplio but it surely was a day of firsts!
The weather was almost like summer and since it was May 1st and we had the day off, we decided to go for a stroll around the picturesque town. "Naples of the East'' of the Venetians, became the first official capital of Greece in 1828. So many things to see; Palamidi, Bourtzi, Akronafplia. A beautiful town. Great squares, old neighbourhoods, little alleys, castles, pedestrian zones full of locals and tourists.
Little picturesque streets full of bougainvilleas. Colors, flower scent all over and welcoming people are the first things that strike you in Nafplio.
Lovely corners all over
Busy colorful streets
Bougainvilleas all over
An interesting and fun way to see the city is by a horse carriage. Catch your own and enjoy an unforgettable ride admiring the beauty of this picturesque town.
Once upon a time...
Oh and if you're really into gelato, don't forget to make a stop at "Antica gelateria di Roma" for genuine italian gelato. I surely stopped there as a true gelato lover.
Gelato love ♥
A day well spent would I say! Little things done with love or with the people you love or care about are never little. Keep that in mind.
